MK Soccer Camp 2015

DSC_0311 - Version 6The Meghan Klingenberg Soccer Camp is geared towards advanced youth girl soccer players. The goal of the camp is to provide a fun and safe environment in which the campers learn from professional players, coaches, certified sports psychologists and sports performance coaches. In addition to soccer technique and tactical training, the camp will focus on other skills needed to be a high level player such as leadership, nutrition, mental skills training and time management. The focus of the camp will be to teach important life skills that will be used in the campers future lives.

Camp Schedule 

Friday, July 17th

Location: Wexford Health & Wellness Pavilion, 12311 Perry Hwy, Wexford, PA 15090

Camper Check-in
Time: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Each Camper will:

• Receive their gear bag including a Nike Camp Tee, Nike Shorts, Sackpack, Water Bottle, Bag Tag, Soccer Ball, Gatorade Packets, Sun Screen, Chapstick

• 4-Tickets to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds match vs. Louisville City FC on 7/18/2015
Game-Time: 7:00pm / Location: Highmark Stadium – Pittsburgh

• Have the opportunity to register for a time slot (coming soon) to get a state-of-the art concussion baseline testing provided by the Allegheny Health Network. Booths featuring panel guests and their respective companies will be setup for campers, parents, and families to learn more about the subjects that will be presented as part of the panel discussion.

• Receive a colored wrist-band that denotes their specific group and allowing them VIP access to seating for the seminar, along with the first opportunities to meet, get autographs and pictures with Meghan Klingenberg.

Saturday, July 18th

Location: Dick’s Sportsplex at Graham Park
260 Graham Park Drive, Cranberry Township, PA 16066

Camper Curriculum
Time: 9:00am – 1:30pm

• Soccer Technical Session-dribbling, defending, shooting and finishing
• Speed and Agility drills
• Soccer Tactics Session- recognizing 1v1 opportunities, finishing
• Play games related to topics covered
• Sport Psychology Session- Run by Dr. Tiff Jones, who will determine from watching the sessions what kind of topic she will cover
* Short break for lunch. Please pack your own lunch! Lunch will NOT be provided for campers

Testing Combine
Time: 2:00pm – 4:30pm (2-one hour session options for additional registration)
Additional Cost: $40 per player

• Physical testing includes:
• 30-meter sprint
• Vertical Jumps
** Strength & Performance support provided by Powertrain Sports

Technical testing includes:
• Pro Agility (Left & Right)
• Kick Speed (Left & Right)

Each participant receives:
• Free user profile to build athlete & personal profile
• Online inclusion to your laser timed results via secure user profile
• Comparison of results to those of WWC Champion Meghan Klingenberg
• Access to all physical and technical talent code testing results performed by Meghan Klingenberg during her four years at the UNC-Chapel Hill

 

Sunday, July 19th

Location: Dick’s Sportsplex at Graham Park

Camper Curriculum
Time: 9:00am – 1:30pm

• Soccer technical session- passing, first touch
• Speed Repetitions
• Soccer Tactics Session- give and go, overlaps, 3rd person runs, timing of runs
• Play games related to topics covered
• Sport Psychology Session- Run by Tiff Jones, who will determine from watching the sessions what kind of topic she will cover
• After the last session an award and end of camp presentation will take place.

* Short break for lunch. Please pack your own lunch! Lunch will NOT be provided for campers
Sport Psychology sessions will likely cover topics related to these subjects:
Leadership, How to conquer nerves, time management, nutrition and how to maximize your practice time
