MK Soccer Camp 2015

DSC_0311 - Version 6The Meghan Klingenberg Soccer Camp is geared towards advanced youth girl soccer players. The goal of the camp is to provide a fun and safe environment in which the campers learn from professional players, coaches, certified sports psychologists and sports performance coaches. In addition to soccer technique and tactical training, the camp will focus on other skills needed to be a high level player such as leadership, nutrition, mental skills training and time management. The focus of the camp will be to teach important life skills that will be used in the campers future lives.

When: July 17-19, 2015
Where: Dick’s Sportplex at Graham Park, 260 Graham Park Drive, Cranberry Township, PA 16066
Who: Middle to high school aged players (as young as 10 years old welcome!)

Camp Schedule

Friday, July 17, 6:30–8:00 pm

  • Check-in and gear distribution
  • Panel Discussion with Meghan Klingenberg, Tiff Jones, Erin Mikula and other staffers
  • Question and Answer session follows
  • Parents are welcome to join

Saturday, July 18,  9:00 am–1:30 pm*

  • Soccer Technical Session-dribbling, defending, shooting and finishing
  • Speed and Agility drills
  • Soccer Tactics Session- recognizing 1v1 opportunities, finishing
  • Play games related to topics covered
  • Sport Psychology Session- Run by Tiff Jones, who will determine from watching the sessions what kind of topic she will cover
    *Short break for lunch. Please pack your own lunch! Lunch will NOT be provided for campers

Sunday, July 19, 9 am–1:30pm*

  • Soccer technical session- passing, first touch
  • Speed Repetitions
  • Soccer Tactics Session- give and go, overlaps, 3rd person runs, timing of runs
  • Play games related to topics covered
  • Sport Psychology Session- Run by Tiff Jones, who will determine from watching the sessions what kind of topic she will cover
  • After the last session an award and end of camp presentation will take place.
    *Short break for lunch. Please pack your own lunch! Lunch will NOT be provided for campers

Sport Psychology sessions will likely cover topics related to these subjects:
Leadership, How to conquer nerves, time management, nutrition and how to maximize your practice time

Additional Information

What you need to bring with you:

  • Cleats
  • Shinguards
  • A Pumped up soccer ball
  • Water bottle

Provided: Price will include camp t-shirts, autographed pictures and snacks as well as sponsor swag
Ratio of campers to staff: Typically around 12:1. 

An athletic trainer will be on site
